CEN is an affiliate of the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), an economic development organization which also serves as the Capital Region’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) works with small and mid-sized U.S. manufacturers to help them create and retain jobs, increase profits, and save time and money. The nationwide network provides a variety of services, from innovation strategies to process improvements to green manufacturing. MEP also works with partners at the state and federal levels on programs that put manufacturers in position to develop new customers, expand into new markets, and create new products.

2014 marked the 25th Anniversary of the MEP Program. For over 25 years MEP has played a critical role in helping U.S. manufacturers reach their potential. Since 1988, MEP has worked with nearly 76,000 manufacturers, leading to $79 billion in sales and $12.8 billion in savings. More than 636,000 jobs have been created through MEP’s efforts, which have also generated more than $20 billion in total investment in U.S. manufacturing. More
